First ever Sindhi Literature Festival held in Karachi
The festival hosted by Wijdan, an organisation dedicated to promote literature, music, arts and culture, featured stalls of books, paintings, traditional food, quilts, ajrak and Sindhi dresses.
The three-day festival was inaugurated by Sufi singer Abida Parveen cut a ribbon with the Sindh literature festival chairperson Abdullah Hussain Haroon among a crowd of participants and other members at the Beach luxury Hotel.
Some Guest speaker spoke about the festival, the organizers also said they had planned to hold the SLF once a year that would basically champion Sindh's culture and celebrate its literature cheifly in Sindhi language.
When Abida Parveen went on the stage along with music artists Mewa Khan, Shahid Khan and Ustad Amb Jogi amid loud cheers of her fans.
The audience loved her magical performance right from the start till the very end. the viewer loved every bit of it as her pleasing voice was accompanied with chants of ‘Ya Ali’ from the audience. Another hit ‘Arey Logon Tumhara Kya’ gave the new life her fans. She frequently switched from Sufi music to ghazal and vice versa it continued to keep the audience engaged and many realized it after some time that they had begun dancing.
Visitors also visit the books stalls, liked the books very much.
The second day of the festival — including twenty sessions on literature, culture, archaeology, history, education and arts — saw participation of a number of art and literature enthusiasts.
There were also books Launching Session of many Writers of Sindh, they launch there books there also exhibited in the book stalls. Writer were happy to the SLF because there were promoting the sindhi literature and their Culture as well.
Lots of work or artists and painters showed and exhibited there are SLF. Its also great initiative by the organizers to provide a platform to the artist of Sindh, to promote their talent in front of the people. visitors appreciated the work of artist and also liked very much.
at the End of Second day lots of Entertainment because Natasha baig a singer sung songs and people enjoyed that session so much because it was energetic and full of fun so every one liked the session so much.
Sindhi Culture and Sindhi music representation was it on its peak, Sindhi people love the performance of the Sindhi singers also.
Stalls of Food, Sindhi Culture, Sindhi Foods and many more newspapers people loved to eat the Sindhi Foods and also Sindhi Tea was available there, many people liked the HAlwa of Sindh which was made of Pure Milk. Sweets and pickle from Larkana Sindh. The Stalls were full of people.
Lots of things were there, hence It was great initiative by the organizers of Sindh Literature Festival that they organize a very good Festival for the promoting of sindhi cultures, artist, peots and writers.
the festival is also to include other regional languages and highlight the literature from all four provinces. This Festival is honored for the writers of Sindh who producting the good literature of Sindhi.
The SLF was a healthy activity that will inspire the youth who will design their new approach about Sindhi literature, culture, history and education.
